Yesterday the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Philippine National Police - Anti-Illegal Drugs Group (PNP-AIDG) has worked together and captured two Taiwanese nationals that has a P195 million worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride, or 'shabu' in anti-drug operation at Parañaque City. The suspects were identified by officer-in-charge of PDEA, Glen Malapad, as Tseng Shien Ming (33) and Huang Zheng Kla (25).
Malapad said that around 1:30 pm, the joint operation of PDEA and PNP-AIDG SOU-3 were handling a vehicle interdiction along Macapagal Boulevard in Barangay Don Galo that eventually led to the arrest of the said suspects with their black backpack and a trolley bag containing 39 vacuum-sealed plastic bags of crystallized shabu.
The two Taiwanese even asked for the help of a PDEA asset to deliver the shabu to Cavite Province. The director of PDEA stated that their original recorded information was that the illegal drugs were smuggled and has good quality.
Though PDEA assured that the illegal drug trade in our nation has weakened because of the constant anti-drug operations. They have even confiscated about 600 kilos of illegal drugs in this year, 2016, alone.
The men are now currently confined at PDEA and are facing charges of violating Republic Act 9165 a.k.a. Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
