Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, Jr., the losing vice-presidential candidate, claims that he is willing to serve under the administration of President-elect Rodrigo Duterte as a Cabinet secretary. This may be possible after the one-year appointment ban on losing candidates lapses.
The senator says, "The details have not yet been ironed out. If given a chance, it would be an honor," He added that he does not covet any particular Cabinet post and that he will "leave that to the President-elect." The former President Ferdinand Marcos' son added, "I'm always ready to (help Duterte) in any capacity even if it is just in the form of a friendly advice,"
He also told that he is pleased with Duterte's earlier announcement that Vice President-elect Leni Robredo will have no Cabinet post because "it might hurt Marcos' feelings". "I thanked him. He has been very kind and very thoughtful (to me). It's nice to see that our friendship is still there,"
It was also reported that both Duterte and Marcos meet in Davao City at the "After Dark" Bar. They took nearly four hours in their meeting, a first after the 2016 elections.
