With exactly 15 days away from the inauguration of Rodrigo Duterte as the 16th President of the Republic of the Philippines, issues and threats continues to arise against him. With his winning mantra of suppressing crimes within 3-6 months, it sure angered many bigtime criminals all over the country.

Druglords had been offering a big sum of money to have President-elect Rodrigo Duterte and Philippine National Police (PNP) head, Chief Supt. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa killed, according to a report from Philippine Daily Inquirer. It started from a 10-million offer which quickly escalated to a 50-million bounty. Currently, with 20 of the biggest druglords from the New Bilibid Prison offering 50 million each, the prize has just gone up to 1 billion pesos!

But it seems not to bother Duterte as he just laughed about it, said Dela Rosa. Quoting from the incoming PNP Chief Ronald dela Rosa;

The PNP has been fighting drug-related crimes since its spike in the year 2012, when the Philippines had the highest rate of shabu use in East Asia according to The United Nations World Drug report. Filipinos, especially those who voted for Duterte, hopes that the his Administration will put an end to these crimes.
