MANILA, Philippines – Local officials involved in the drug trade, you have been warned.

Reiterating his vow to implement President-elect Rodrigo Duterte’s plan to wipe out the illegal drug trade in the country, incoming Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa warned mayors who coddle drug lords in their area that they will be treated just like any other criminal.
</br></br>
“We will treat them like ordinary criminals. They committed a crime. I don’t care if you’re a mayor. You were elected using your drug money,” the Philippine Daily Inquirer quoted him as saying.

Dela Rosa also assured that these officials who will be caught red-handed won’t be afforded any special treatment.

“There would be no special treatment. How could you give someone a special treatment when he has committed a graver sin against the country because he was chosen as a mayor yet he has served as the drug lord in their area? He has committed a graver sin, right? So we would give you an ordinary criminal treatment? You might as well leave your post,” he said.

As a way of strengthening the PNP to help in Duterte’s anti-crime drive, Dela Rosa said he would appoint 15 new regional directors who won’t be afraid to defy local officials who are coddling drug lords.

“Our drug problem worsened because many of our commanders are afraid to go against the drug lords. They say that they have the protection of the mayor, governor or congressman. I would assign people who won’t be afraid to go against the drug lords,” he said.

Ikinalungkot nya ang sistema na pinapairal ng gobyerno na imbes na pagtuunan ng pansin ang mga pangangailangan ng magsasaka ay ang importasyon ang inuuna.”

“Noong mga nakaraang taon ay naghihingalo na talaga ang agrikultural sector sa Pilipinas. Kailangan nating balikan ito at ayusin dahil ang mangyayari sa integration ay matatanggal na ang import limit. Sa ngayon meron lang tayong hanggang ilang tonelada lang ang pwede i-import, pagdating ng Asean integration, tatanggalin na yun.  This means only cases currently pending in court, as well as future cases, can and will be ELIGIBLE for the DEATH PENALTY. This recent Quezon City multiple robbery with rape cases could very well qualify as having fulfilled the criteria for the Death Penalty.

First, deceit was used in luring the two robbery rape victims. The perpetrators presented themselves as legitimate operators of a vehicle for hire. Two, the use of a vehicle in the commission of a crime is an AGGRAVATING CIRCUMSTANCE. Three, the fact that more than one person committed the crimes would fulfill the definition of RAPE IN BAND, another AGGRAVATING CIRCUMSTANCE. Four, the criminals came prepared with materials to tie the hands of the victims at the back.
</br></br>
 This is an indication of PREMEDITATION, which means that the crimes were planned well in advance. One suspect, Wilfredo Lorenzo, is now in police custody while another, only identified as “Buddy” is still at large. A swift passage of the Death Penalty Law, a quick trial and a fast appeals process in the Supreme Court which will decide with finality should give the Filipino people its first Death Penalty conviction and execution in a long while.

The authorities arrested a man who drives a colorum UV Express shuttle who is being accused of taking advantage of two passengers inside the said van. This incident happened in Quezon City last week. </div>

The driver was said to have an accomplice who declared a hold-up when they were in Batasan Hills. He then tied up the victims and took their  things. </div>

Liberal Party Representative filed its SOCE with backup documents contained in five boxes and declared a total spents of P241,097,372.73 in last election.

Based on its SOCE, LP received a total of P181,080,000 in cash contributions from other sources and non-members and spent P60,017,372.73 in cash contributions from its party members.

LP’s SOCE was notarized by lawyer Doris Ramirez on June 10 and was organized by its treasurer Alfonso Umali Jr.

If we look at the SOCE, it was filed by the Treasurer of the Party. Nothing wrong there. But uncharacteristically, the contributions and the expenditures were neatly packed. No single cent saved.

Non-members donated Php181 Million while members donated Php 60 Million for a total of Php 241 Million. Interesting to see who donated, both for non-members and members. And how the donations were distributed to national and local candidates.

The camp of President-elect Rodrigo Duterte has informed Vice President-elect Leni Robredo that he wants to hold his inauguration separately on June 30.

“We were informed by the team of President-elect Rody Duterte about their preference to hold the inauguration separately,” Boyet Dy, head of Robredo’s transition team, said in a statement on Wednesday.

“While we have been preparing for a joint inauguration, we respect their decision and will begin our own preparations for a simple and modest ceremony,” he said.
